The Otters are an independent organization founded in 1979 by members of the swim club who wanted their children to have the opportunity to compete in the MCSL.

The primary purpose of the Quince Orchard Otters Swim Club Inc, is to operate a community swim team that develops good character through good sportsmanship of competitive swimming during the month's (June-August).

Quince Orchard Otters Swim Club, Inc. has been classified by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization as described in section 509(a)(2). Sponsorship costs are allowable deductions because they meet the applicable provisions of Code sections 2055, 2106 and 2522.
